Are You Ready For Some Football? © Hank Williams III

Brett Favre has finally been traded to the New York Jets. That's right, he's in the same division as my beloved New England Patriots and we get to play him at least twice a year! Yay! My pals and family in New York are ecstatic and I'm like "Noooooo!" (no Charles Grodin from the Beethoven movies). At least we'll stop hearing about him all the time now since he's moved to the biggest media market on the East Coast *sarcasm alert*

EA Sports is now offering downloadable new covers for the upcoming Madden 09 games (since Brett is not only not retired but playing for the New York Jets) and a downloadable roster update available so you can play as Brett Favre! Aren't you excited? Why the hell not? Brett Favre is going to play another season of football. The man is a damn competitor! He plays the game the way it should be played. I can't wait for the Patriots to kill the Jets this year. He was on the sidelines for their preseason game and he expects to get on the field this Saturday.

Last night, the Patriots lost their first preseason game of the season 16-15 to the Baltimore Ravens as Matt Cassell looked like a retarded quarterback out on the gridiron. Matt Gutierrez looked slightly better but he couldn't maintain a drive or get any offensive momentum going. Jared Mayo looked great and the cornerbacks and remaining linebackers made some nice plays.

As far as the offense went nothing happened until the Patriots went to their 4th string quarterback Kevin O' Connell. Either way you sliced it the game was uglier than Sam Cassell in monster movie make up. I instead turned to the Little League World Series and the Phoenix Cardinals/New Orleans Saints game on ESPN/NFL Network (thank God it finally switched to HD...NBA TV get the hint!).

Well, it's officially football season since the Hall Of Fame game went down so where's everyone else at (Raven Mack, Mavpa, Harpo? I'm looking at you!)? I have no idea (I'll send out an e-mail to last year's contributors on Monday to see where they're at). One.
