This man is back in Boston. I used to walk down to Newbury Comics on a couple of times a week and I'd often see Junior Seau just chillin'. I'd recognize him and give him the wassup headnod. To see him or Rosey Colvin or Mike Vrabel and Tedy Bruschi out with the wife and kids was no big deal. Just one thing, I thought I saw him yesterday. This guy is not supposed to be anywhere near here. He's retired...and damn near 40. Then I remembered something, the completely out of playing shape Roosevelt Colvin signed with the team last week. The Patriots will be relying on Junior Seau and Roosevelt Colvin to make plays and help them win games.

Didn't Colvin get cut by the *cough!* Houston Texans earlier on in this very year? Now he's being used as a band aid at linebacker in the hopes that he'll play himself into shape by the playoffs? OK, sure. The Patriots play the hapless Seattle Seahawks (2-10) @ 4PM this Sunday and they usually play well after a loss so they're hoping to get to 8-5. The thing is that this season just isn't typical and NO win is guaranteed. Coach Belichick has made a few bad judgement calls this season and isn't above getting caught with his pants down (no Wildcat formation).

There was the time he went for the timeout rather than going for the first down in the Red Zone at the end up the Colts game in Week Nine. He took the FG when they had actually converted the 4th down and had a chance for the go ahead TD instead. When do you remember Coach making many mistakes like that one in the past? Ones that actually end up costing his team the game? (IND 18 NE 15). He was so conversative on offense against the Jets towards the end of the game that it ended up going into OT in Week Eleven and they dropped that one as well (NYJ 34 NE 31).

I know that people that frequent this blog think I'm a whiner for not wearing rose colored glasses when it comes to my team but fuck that! When your team succeeds it raises the fans level of expectations as I've stated before. I don't blindly go along with whatever my team does, I don't have to. I'm not a fan of a team that doesn't have a great owner, front office, executives or a coaching staff. That being the case I can say whatever I want and feel however I want about my team. Raise your hands if your team missed the NFL crown by a miracle catch and a last second touchdown on a final drive when they were undefeated...oh, wait. It's just me (and Chinballs )*rolls eyes*

I don't put a "positive" spin on things. I say what I see regardless of if it's my team or not. The Patriots played like shit for the entire playoffs last year and they got their asses kicked. I didn't cop pleas about it, I said that the Giants kicked their asses. Look at Giants fans now, if they lose in the playoffs do you think they'll say "Oh well, we won last year so let's be happy!". Hell fuckin' no! The only people that would think that are fans of teams that suck almost every year. Eventually, the Patriots are going to get BAD. It's inevitable, it's going to happen. I just didn't think that they were gonna be mediocre THIS SEASON. Since this season was the last chance to reach that summit before a rebuilding year it makes sense I'd feel the way I do...doesn't it?

Go back and read some of my previous statements regarding this season and see if I'm telling the truth or just being "negative". The only fans that wouldn't complain about their quarterback not being able to throw touchdowns in the Red Zone are ones that aren't used to having a quarterback that can do so. Why am I an asshole for pointing out deficiencies in my home team? I love that since the Patriots have very little chance of winning a ring and I wrote that "It's all about the 'chip" people gave me grief for it. Are you serious? Every sports franchise wants to win a championship! That's the whole point of any season.

What else do all of these teams play seventeen weeks of NFL football for? To put themselves in position to win the Vince Lombardi Trophy, not to get in position for draft picks! If you really open your eyes and quit with the hate because my team is "winning" and I'm not "happy or "upbeat" about it then you'll realize that I'm doing nothing but telling it how it really is. Check me out @
