Miami Fans Suffer Halftime Show, Loss

Braylon Edwards spent a whole quarter on the sidelines, coming in at the first possible moment following his punishment achieving minimally significant symbolism. He spent the next three playing football, giving the lie to the notion that anyone honestly cares about whether athletes are good people. Well, maybe some people do. Maybe people with children, who have to explain to impressionable minds how the world of reprobate millionaires works. I don't have children, and I don't care. Vick is a sociopath, Roethlisberger a serial rapist, Edwards a man of recklessly poor judgement. Let them be known for what they are, and then let them play football.

Things went well for the Jets. Handsome Mark continues his journey into competency, clearly marking week one's miserable check-down show as an aberration. He's still shaky throwing to the left, and he had trouble trying to loft one through Miami's front line, but luck went his way and everything turned out alright. Shonn Green put in the kind of showing that's acceptable as long as LT keeps running like he's got something to prove. Miami gave the Jets a scrap, and this time the Jets got the better of it. Last year things went the other way, and come December I expect an even uglier game.

I feel like a bit of a heel, making my entry on to the blog during a week when the long-time contributors suffer events ranging from unfortunate to biblical. But that's the game, isn't it? Once a week the lord either smiles on you or he doesn't. This week we learned that he doesn't consider drunk driving to be such a big deal.

Man, at least somebody is happy.

Also, yeah, I hate all that ATHLETES ARE ROLE MODELS bullshit and I love Braylon Edwards and therefore what happened made me happy too.

He's lucky he played so well or I'd be furious he shaved off that magnificent beard. I guess it's hard to blame him, I have no doubt the law will go easier on him this way, but g-d that was a good beard.

Yeah, that beard was epic and is the real victim here.

Welcome to the fold, good to see new teams getting representation. Particularly a team that actually wins games.
