Your Offical 2010 NFL Over/Under WIn Odds

Hard to believe that there are people who's careers in life center around determining who's going to win football games that are 4+ months away, let alone people who bet good money based on said numbers, but here they are nonetheless:

Indianapolis Colts 11
San Diego Chargers 10.5
New Orleans Saints 10.5
Dallas Cowboys 10
New York Jets 9.5
New England Patriots 9.5
Minnesota Vikings 9
Batimore Ravens 9
San Francisco 49ers 9
Green Bay Packers 9
Philadelphia Eagles 8.5
New York Giants 8.5
Houston Texans 8.5
Tennessee Titans 8.5
Atlanta Falcons 8
Pittsburgh Steelers 8
Cincinnati Bengals 8
Miami Dolphins 8
Chicago Bears 7.5
Carolina Panthers 7.5
Washington Redskins 7.5
Arizona Cardinals 7.5
Jacksonville Jaguars 7.5
Denver Broncos 7
Seattle Seahawks 7
Kansas City Chiefs 6
Buffalo Bills 5.5
Tampa Bay Buccaneers 5.5
Oakland Raiders 5.5
Detroit Lions 5.5
Cleveland Browns 5
St. Louis Rams 5

From a Steelers fan point of view, Vegas seems to think that the Big Ben Rapeapalooza Tour 2010 will have quite the negative effect on the season. That might end up being the case, but what really stands out to me is how there's only 6 games separating the top and bottom team. Granted, these are pre-preseason numbers, but it is telling at how well the NFL has achieved parity when you look at that list and the first thing you think of is "bullshit, the Rams won't win that many games this year".

Second thing that comes into the mind of a Steeler fan is how preposterous the suggestion is that 8 wins is the baseline for this season. The four games Ben will miss include Atlanta, Tennessee, Tampa Bay, and Baltimore. A 2-2 split doesn't seem out of the question and would likely be the result if Ben was playing or not. Hell, Dennis Dixon was thrown into his first NFL start on almost no notice in a game on national TV against Baltimore and held his own before losing in OT. If he gets the call, at worst he'll be a serviceable substitute teacher until the suspension is over. The talk so far is that it's a done deal Leftwich will be the defacto starting QB, but I can't imagine an offense that has been based on Ben scrambling to help WRs get open will flourish with a guy behind center who's so immobile that pigeons shit on him.

The Steelers got lucky in that their schedule is more forgiving than the last few years, that will help them ride out any storms the season will bring and it's the reason I'm going on the record with a prediction of a 10-6 season.

We're not the worst anymore! EAT SHIT EVERYONE!

I, uh, I apologize. It's just that 5.5 wins is cause for celebration. Right? RIGHT???

*breaks down in tears*

I looked at this after a month of the redskins fan pages thinking we're going to the playoffs now, and saw how vegas, who decides who wins anyways, has us as the worst team in our division still, and was like, "yep"
