A few weeks ago when we were knee deep in this Cutler drama the infamous Jeff George, of all people, expressed the opinion that Cutler should get with the program and show up for camp. Jeff fucking George!!! Of course this was the same conversation in which George stated the Vikings would have won a Super Bowl had he been there and that his services were still available. I can only dream of such stupid, asinine statements coming from Cutler in 10 years. What an adolescent this guy has turned out to be. He can't keep his yap shut on the field, he can't keep his emotions in check and avoid multiple turnovers when things go south and now he has taken his ball and gone home because they wouldn't let his friend Jeremy hang around and call the plays. I mean seriously his ego got a little bruised and he stopped returning calls. What is this? Middle School?
Short term...Denver will miss him. Long term...Denver got the better part of this deal. Two first round picks, a third round pick and a QB. Not bad. I admit I don't know much about Orton at this juncture. It's clear he doesn't have the physical gifts Cutler possesses. My gut tells me he will do well in McDaniels system. I mean for fucks sake he had some pretty good games last year throwing to absolutely nobody. Forte was their leading receiver with 63 Rec. for 477 yards.
To make this a positive Denver has to cash in big time with the draft picks. They have to shore up their abysmal defense or it won't matter who is slinging the rock. McDaniels has a short time to prove he was the right guy to keep in this mess. He better start winning right away.
